Emergency Preparedness Drill

Please note: no SuperC on this day.

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priority. To provide The Westside School an opportunity to practice emergency response procedures, all Students, Faculty and Staff, and Parents will participate in a School-wide emergency preparedness drill on September 27, 2019 at 2:45 pm.

Please be advised that students will be dismissed at 3:00 pm on this day. There will be no SuperC clubs on this day.

At 2:45pm, your child will drop to the ground, take cover under a table or desk, and hold on. After that the Faculty and Staff will direct the full evacuation of the schools.

You are required to practice reunification procedure:

  • Please come at 3:00 pm to pick up your child

  • Bring identification

  • First come to the Request Gate (Parent Check-In Gate) to request the student

  • Fill out the Student Release Form

  • Proceed to the Reunion Gate (Student Release Exit) to meet your child and sign them out. (The Map of the site is attached).

  • You will not be allowed back into the building for any reason.

  • If the child is not picked up within an hour, they will be escorted to the City of Vancouver Disaster Support Hub Location (Roundhouse Community Centre).

  • On September 27th, we will be escorting them to David Lam Park at 4:00 pm (behind Roundhouse Community Centre).
